Yogi Adityanath government is preparing a massive urban development project near Noida. The project will cover 44 villages and is expected to become one of western Uttar Pradesh’s biggest future growth hubs.
According to the YEIDA Master Plan 2041, the New Agra Urban Center will be developed in three major phases. The government plans to create a fully modern urban ecosystem with residential zones, industrial areas, tourism infrastructure and commercial districts. The city is expected to accommodate nearly 14 lakh people and could generate over 10 lakh jobs in the coming years, making it a major economic centre near Delhi-NCR.
One of the biggest highlights of the project is its strong connectivity. The city will be directly linked through the Yamuna Expressway and will also benefit from the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. The upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar will be around 120 km away from the new city. Plans for high-speed rail connectivity and dedicated freight infrastructure are also being explored to improve movement of passengers and goods.
Tourism and modern industries are central to the project. Authorities are planning luxury hotels, resorts, theme parks, convention centres and adventure parks to attract visitors and investments. At the same time, sectors like IT, food processing, warehousing, handicrafts, sportswear and leather products will also get dedicated industrial zones. Since the area falls under the Taj Trapezium Zone, only non-polluting industries will be allowed.
The government has reserved large portions of land for green zones and environmental protection. Around 16 percent of the total project area has been earmarked for greenery and ecological balance. Authorities estimate the city will need nearly 375 MLD of water every day. Water supply will come from the Yamuna River, Lower Ganga Canal and rainwater harvesting systems. Multiple sewage treatment plants and reservoirs are also planned under the project.
New Agra Urban Center will spread across 44 villages including Agarkhas, Arela, Baghena, Gangoli, Khandawali, Nawalpur, Naya Bans and Semra.
