Yogi Adityanath is a ‘refined’ version of me: Uma Bharti heaps praise on UP CM ahead of 2022 Assembly polls

The election bugle is blaring loud in Uttar Pradesh as the state heads for Assembly polls next year, with political pundits speculating it to be one of the fiercely-contested elections in recent times.

While the Bharatiya Janata Party is eyeing a historic comeback under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, opposition camps such as the Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and the Congress is leaving no stone unturned to overthrow the saffron brigade.

Throwing her weight behind the talismanic BJP CM, former Union minister Uma Bharti has said that Yogi is “a refined and better version” of herself.

“Yogi Adityanath had shown keen interest and dedication towards the overall development of the state, and has left his rivals far behind. He has not only proved himself, but also served the people of the state tirelessly. There is no doubt that he is my better and refined version,” Bharti, who is also a former Madhya Pradesh CM, told reporters in Prayagraj on Wednesday.

The senior BJP leader claimed that her party would “script stories of success” in the 2022 Assembly polls.

“People are fed up with ‘parivarvad’ (nepotism), and leaders who get active only ahead of polls would not get anything. There is a stampede-like situation in the Mulayam Singh Yadav (Samajwadi Party) family, while Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati is still in isolation,” Bharti said, according to news agency IANS.

Silencing the opposition, she claimed that the era of SP, BSP and the Congress has “already ended”.

“It does not help when you get active during polls. You have to work hard five to seven years for the masses to get your work noticed. The opposition parties would not even touch double digit seat figures as the people of the state have already made up their mind to support the BJP, which would register an impressive triumph in the assembly polls,” she said.
