Bollywood actress Yami Gautam, who was last seen in Bhoot Police, has shared a long note on Instagram to talk about her insecurities and ‘flaws’. Sharing photos from a recent shoot, the 32-year-old actress revealed that she is suffering from a skin condition called Keratosis- Pilaris. And, she has finally been able to muster up the courage to speak about it and share ‘untouched’ photos.

After giving it a lot of thought, Yami decided to stop the pictures from going to post-production and she shared raw and un-photoshopped images on her social media handle. In the caption, she shared that she has decided to let go of her insecurities and fears.

A part of her caption read, “I thought, ‘Hey Yami, why don’t you embrace this fact and accept it enough to be OKAY with it. Just let it be… (Yes, I do talk out loud to myself). For those who haven’t heard about this, it’s a skin condition wherein you get tiny bumps on the skin. I promise they aren’t as bad as your mind and your neighbour aunty makes it out to be) I developed this skin condition during my teenage years, and there is still no cure for it.”

While sharing what pushed her to post the photos, she wrote, “I’ve dealt with it for many years now and today finally, I decided to let go of all my fears and insecurities and found the courage to love and accept my ‘flaws’ wholeheartedly. I also found the courage to share my truth with you. Phew!”

While concluding, she reiterated that she feels beautiful in her own skin, with all the imperfections and ‘flaws’. She also said that she didn’t feel like airbrushing her folliculitis or smoothing out those under-eye dark circles or shaping up her waist after she accepted herself for who she is.

On many occasions, celebs have been trolled on social media platforms for going overboard while photoshopping their snaps. Many have been called out for promoting unrealistic beauty standards through their posts.

Yami’s post comes as a motivation to all the young social media users and her fans who have body image issues and find it difficult to accept themselves with all their hearts.
