Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is expected to make his Test debut during the IND vs AUS 1st Test 2024 set to be played at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Nitish has showcased some decent performances with the bat while playing T20I cricket for the Indian team and on the basis of the performance got included in the Test squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Apart from playing some decent knocks with the bat, Reddy was given the chance to bowl with the new ball during the IND vs BAN T20I series.

Ravi Shastri’s Key Advice For Nitish Kumar Reddy

Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri in an interaction with International Cricket Council (ICC) stated that Nitish Kumar Reddy needs to do a Shardul Thakur on the IND vs AUS 2024-25 Australian tour. Shardul was among the heroes of Team India’s historic win at ‘The Gabba’ on previous tour and scored a half-century with the bat. Ravi Shastri said, “Nitish Reddy will have to do a job like Shardul Thakur did as the fourth seamer. He can bat a bit, give the bowlers a little bit of respite so that they can bowl in short spells and be someone who will have to be good for those eight to 10 overs that he bowls.”

The India vs Australia 2024-25 Test series will begin from November 22 and both teams will look forward on winning the match to make a winning start to the series. The Indian team will look forward to repeating the performance of the previous Australian tour this time as well, however, it won’t be easy for them as Australia are a very tough side at home.
