After the retirement from Test cricket of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, cricket fans have been eagerly waiting for the upcoming ODI series so that they can witness the greatness of their favourite players. India is scheduled to play against Bangladesh for a 3-match ODI series from 17 August 2025. But the most awaited 50-over format cricket to see the prowess of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli is the October tour for a 3-match ODI series. For this special occasion, Cricket Australia has arranged a special farewell to both the Indian batters, as this will probably be their last ODI series in Australia.

“This might be the last time that we get to see Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma play in our country. And if that is the case, who knows, it might not be, but if it is, we wanna make sure we give them a great send-off and a reflection of the incredible contribution they have made to international cricket.” Cricket Australia CEO Todd Greenberg said.

Rohit Sharma Vs Australia

Rohti Sharma debuted for the Indian national cricket team on June 23, 2007, against Ireland. Against the Kangaroos, Rohit has a stellar record. He has played 46 matches and managed to score 2407 runs in the 50-over format. He maintains an average of over 57 against Australia and a strike rate of 96.01. His most recent appearance against Australia was the 1st semifinal of the Champions Trophy 2025. He failed to create an impact with the bat, but India won the match by 4 wickets.

Virat Kohli Vs Australia

Virat Kohli debuted for the Indian team in 2008 against Sri Lanka. In his 30 appearances, Kohli has managed an average of 43.76 and has scored 2232 runs against the Kangaroos. His most recent appearance against Australia in the ODI was the Champions Trophy semifinals, where he smashed 84 runs and also grabbed two important catches, which led the team to advance to the finals. He was also awarded the ‘Player of the Match’.
