Mumbai Court Orders Probe Against Ekta Kapoor

Recently, the founder of ALT Balaji is facing legal trouble. A Mumbai court has ordered an investigation into a complaint filed against her, her parents- veteran actors Jeetendra and Shobha Kapoor and ALT Balaji.

The complaint, filed by YouTuber Vikas Pathak, popularly known as Hindustani Bhau, alleges that one of ALT Balaji’s web series disrespected Indian soldiers.

What Is The Complaint About?

On 15 February, Mumbai Police began investigating the case following a court directive. The Bandra magistrate’s court has instructed the police to submit a report on the matter by 9 May under Section 202 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

According to Hindustani Bhau, an episode of an ALT Balaji web series, which he came across in May 2020, portrayed an army officer in an “illicit sexual act.” Through his lawyer, Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh, he alleged that the scene shamelessly targeted the dignity and pride of our country by showing the military uniform with the national emblem in an inappropriate manner.

Who Is Hindustani Bhau?

For those unfamiliar, Hindustani Bhau is a social media personality known for his aggressive videos, often recorded inside his car. His signature style includes strong language, which has landed him in trouble multiple times.

Before gaining fame on digital platforms, he worked as a crime reporter for a Thane-based newspaper. In 2019, he participated in the reality TV show Bigg Boss. Over the years, he has faced legal action for clashing with authorities, including violations of Covid-19 guidelines.

What Happens Next?

With the investigation now underway, all eyes are on the police report due in May. Whether the allegations lead to further legal consequences for Ekta Kapoor and her family remains to be seen.
