‘Trump’s ultimate loyalist’ and Indian-American Kash Patel took oath as the new Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on the Bhagavad Gita on Friday. He recited the oath surrounded by his girlfriend and family who stood beside him while his other relatives were seated in the front row. He was administered oath by US Attorney General Pam Bondi at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, Washington, D.C. With this, Patel succeeded Christopher Wray to become the ninth FBI Director.

After he took the oath of office, Patel noted he was living the American dream and stated that a “first-generation Indian is about to lead the law enforcement agency of the greatest nation on earth.” He said, “Anyone who thinks the American dream is dead, look right here. You are talking to a first-generation Indian who is about to lead the law enforcement agency of the greatest nation on earth. That can’t happen anywhere else.”

Who Is Kash Patel?

Kashyap ‘Kash’ Patel is an Indian-origin American and ‘Trump’s ultimate loyalist’. According to reports, Patel played a crucial role in discrediting Russia’s election interference probe. He has earlier been a Republican House staffer and held various senior staff roles within intelligence and defense during Trump’s previous administration.

Donald Trump Expresses Support For Trump

During the event, Kash Patel made a strong commitment to his work, ensuring accountability within and outside the FBI. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump called him a ‘tough & strong’ person. He remarked, “One of the reasons I love Kash and wanted to put him in is because of the respect the agents had for him. He will go down as the best at that position.”

The White House Welcomes New FBI Director

The White House last Thursday welcomed the confirmation of Patel as the new FBI Director in an X post. It wrote, “Kash Patel’s confirmation as FBI Director is a crucial step in executing President Trump’s agenda to restore integrity and uphold the rule of law.”
