Through various welfare schemes, the Indian government provides financial support to citizens across the nation. These welfare schemes help improve living conditions for millions from diverse social backgrounds. The government offers free healthcare to individuals who cannot afford medical care.

With the launch of the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana in 2018, the Indian government introduced a major step toward accessible healthcare. The scheme offers free healthcare services to a large number of Indian citizens. The implementation of this program persisted absent in Delhi until the present time.

The Ayushman Bharat Yojana was launched in Delhi on April 6 to extend the benefits of this national scheme to the residents of Delhi. Eligibility Criteria For Ayushman Bharat Scheme

The initiative does not specify salary requirements, as it exclusively targets underprivileged social classes. The Ayushman Bharat Yojana covers AAY and BPL ration cardholders, MNREGA workers who have completed at least 90 days of work, and individuals in the unorganised labor sector.

The Ayushman card is available to people with an annual income of less than Rs 1.5 lakh, as stated in their income certificate.

The Delhi rollout begins by offering the Ayushman card to AAY and PRS cardholders, then moves on to BPL cardholders during the initial stage. The Delhi government provides beneficiaries of Ayushman cards in the state with a supplemental benefit of Rs 5 lakh apart from the main scheme.
