After working in Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Shubhangi Atre got her big break in the small screen industry with Kasturi. The TV serial was created by Ekta Kapoor and it was an instant hit. Shubhangi shared the frame with Karan Patel and both of them rose to immense fame with the drama series. They turned into a household name but all of this stardom did not last for long. The show Kasturi came to an abrupt end and ran only for 2 years.
It was later revealed it was lead actor Karan’s behaviour towards the team of the show that resulted in the show’s downfall. In an interview in 2019, Karan had confirmed that the show went off air mainly because of him. In the same interview, Shubhangi also opened up about the tough time she faced while shooting with Karan. Shubhangi had revealed that she used to shoot with Karan’s duplicate and that used to hurt her a lot.
Apparently, the actor used to come late to the shoots, get rude with the crew, not leave his vanity van and even drink on the sets. Karan had graced Juzz Baat with Rajeev Khandelwal and Shubhangi made an appearance on the show via a recorded video
Karan opened up about Kasturi and admitted his mistakes. He even added that he wants to apologize to everyone who was involved in the making of the show. Then Rajeev showed him a video by Shubhangi where she opened up about how it was tough to shoot with Karan.
“Kasturi ki dher saari yaadein hai, achi bhi aur buri bhi. Pehle buri se shuruat karti hu. Maine bohot wait kiya hai aur apne mujhe bohot wait karvaya hai. Chaar chaar, paanch paanch ghante maine wait kiya hai k Karan ab vanity she bahar aaega, Karan ab vanity se bahar aaega aur hum shot denge aur aap makeup room me baithe rehte the aur mai dupe k saath shoot karti thi jo mere lie bohot painful hota tha (I have a lot of memories from Kasturi – some good, some bad. Lets start with the bad ones first. I used to wait for your for hours but you used to sit in your makeup room and then I used to shoot with the dupe and that was very painful for me),” Shubhangi had said.
She had, however, revealed that the tough time she faced on the sets of Kasturi helped her evolve as an actor. Shubhangi had added that she does have some good memories from the show and it was not all bad for her. As for Shubhangi’s present work front, she currently essays the role of Angoori Manmohan Tiwari on Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!
