December 8 is a happy day for the Pataudis as it marks veteran actress Sharmila Tagore’s birthday. On her special day, her family members including daughter-in-law Kareena Kapoor Khan and daughters Soha Ali Khan and Saba Ali Khan and granddaughter Sara Ali Khan have flooded social media with just the most beautiful wishes.
Kareena has always shared a warm relationship with her mother-in-law Sharmila Tagore. The two have often heaped praise on one another for just being themselves. One such occasion was when Sharmila Tagore graced Kareena’s chat show What Women Want and opened up about the things she likes about her son Saif Ali Khan’s wife. Sharing how she likes Kareena’s consistency and how she always manages to keep in touch, Sharmila also recalled how Kareena stood by the family when Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was hospitalised.
Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi passed away on September 22, a day after Kareena‘s birthday. “I have seen you when Tiger was in the hospital and how you didn’t draw attention to yourself. It so happened that (September) 21st is your birthday and Tiger passed away on the 22nd,” recalled Sharmila, adding, “You were there and you were just like my children and my family. I really remember that. I have seen you during various stages, and you have been rather wonderful, I must say.”
In the same interview, Sharmila also opened up about how Kareena’s presence makes her feel calm. She explained that while she sometimes snaps at her hairdressers if they are getting late, Kareena never does that, and added that she has seen the actress interact with her staff. She also praised Kareena for always replying to her every time she texts her.
As for today, Kareena posted the sweetest wish for her mother-in-law on social media. The actress took to Instagram and shared a timeless photo of the cinema icon and wrote: “Happy birthday my beautiful mother-in-law. Iconic,” and added heart emoticons to complete her wish. Sara Ali Khan also took to Instagram to wish her grandmom on the special occasion. “Happiest Birthday Badi Amma I love you so much. Thank you for always being here for us and being a constant pillar of support. Inshallah I hope that I can always make you proud. #grandmother #inspiration #graceful #beautiful #iconic,” read her post.
