Tollywood stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya set several tongues wagging when they announced their separation, a few days before their fourth wedding anniversary. Their split left their ardent fans shocked as they were considered one of the most loved couples of Tollywood. The duo always praised each other in their interviews, giving serious couple goals to the fans.
Back in the day, Samantha, while appearing on Famously Filmfare, had said that it took her and Naga Chaitanya eight long years to be at the same point. She had revealed that there were times they wanted things to work out but external factors played spoilsport.
“It took us eight years to be at the same point. Because there were times when I really liked him and he was not in that space. And there were times when we wanted to work it out, but external factors. It took us a very long time to be in the same space,” Samantha had said.
The Jaanu actress had also talked about having a baby with Naga in the same interview.
Naga and Samantha, who first worked together in Ye Maaya Chesave, got married in October 2017. They tied the knot according to Hindu and Christian rituals in the presence of their loved ones. The former couple issued statements on their respective social media handles to inform fans that they have parted ways.
“After much deliberation and thought Sam and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us,” a part of Naga’s statement read.
On the professional front, Samantha was last seen in a full fledged role in Amazon Prime Video’s The Family Man. The web series, which featured Manoj Bajpayee in a lead role, marked the digital debut of Samantha. She received critical acclaim for her power-packed performance in the thriller.
Samantha made several hearts skip a beat with her dance moves in Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava. The tinsel town diva and Allu Arjun’s chemistry in Pushpa: The Rise song created ripples on social media.
The Majili actress has several exciting projects in her kitty including Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal, Shaakuntalam and Yashoda.
