Australian Open 2025: Carlos Alcaraz Powers Into 2nd Round!

Carlos Alcaraz, seeded third in men’s singles, was a one-sided affair on Monday that catapulted him to the second round of the Australian Open 2025. He thrashed Alexander Shevchenko at the Margaret Court Arena in straight sets: 6-1, 7-5, 6-1.

Despite four double faults and some troubles in the second set, Alcaraz played his class and control throughout the match. He served 6 aces while Shevchenko did not score any. Alcaraz won 69% of first serves and 76% of second serves while converting 8 out of 19 break points.
