Just days before celebrating their fourth wedding anniversary, Telugu film industry’s ‘it’ couple Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya announced that they had parted ways in late 2021. The duo had been together for a few years before tying the knot and their splitsville left fans heartbroken. This brings us back to a throwback interview in which Samantha spoke about Naga Chaitanya as a husband and was all praise for him. 

After the couple’s divorce announcement, their fans have since been sharing throwback pictures, videos and some important clips on social media. During the promotions of the film Mahanati, a biographical drama based on the life of Indian actress Savitri, Samantha had spoken about comparing herself to the late actress. 

She had said, “I would have also gone through the same experience faced by Savitri. But, I realised it and came out of it. I knew that our relationship wouldn’t end well. I consider myself to be fortunate that I have got a husband like Naga Chaitanya.”

Mahanati had released in 2018 and starred Keerthy Suresh as Savitri with Samantha as Madhurvani, Dulquer Salmaan as Gemini Ganesan and Vijay Deverakonda as Vijay Anthony.

Meanwhile, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya have been busy with their respective projects. The duo was last seen together in Majili in 2019, where they played a husband and wife. 

A part of Naga Chaitanya’s separation announcement read, “After much deliberation and thought Sam and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us.”

Lately, Samantha has been sharing picturesque views of Switzerland as she is enjoying her ski trips. Last year, after her split with Chay, she went on a spiritual journey to Himachal Pradesh with her best friend. 

On the work front, Samantha, who made waves with Oo Antavama song in Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise, will be seen next in Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal with Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara.
