We all remember the whistles and hooting when the audience saw the fresh pairing of Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda for the first time on screen. We all knew there was a spark between the duo and soon their alleged dating rumours started to make rounds.

However, Rashmika and Vijay never openly addressed their equation but stood true to their friendship each time. Well, it was not just the fans who thought that something is brewing between the two, but even Rashmika knew that they had a ‘spark’

Yes, you read that right. From Geetha Govindam to date, Vijay and Rashmika have shelled nothing but major friendship goals. We all know that Rashmika was previously engaged to Rakshit Shetty and they later parted ways in 2017.

Back in 2020, Rashmika had once spoken about her bond with Vijay. The actress had revealed that they already had a spark while they shot for their film Geetha Govindam. According to a report in International Business Times, Rashmika was quoted as saying,” He (Vijay Deverakonda) is a simple guy who was happy in his own world. During Geetha Govindam, we were just friends, but there was a kind of spark that we could not ignore”

The actress also spoke in the same interview that Vijay offered a caring shoulder to her when she was upset after her breakup with Rakshit. In an interview to the same media portal, Rashmika confessed that she expressed her feelings towards Vijay. She revealed that he was hesitant initially, but he too had feelings for the actress. 

Rashmika was further quoted in International Business Times as,” He isn’t an insecure person like my ex-boyfriend Rakshit Shetty nor suggests me to sacrifice my career. He is a free-minded person and wants me to be independent forever”

Rashmika has always praised her relationship with Vijay. Cut to present, Rashmika is basking the success of her recently released film Pushpa: The Rise that is winning hearts all over. While Vijay will be seen in his first pan-India film starring Ananya Panday, titled Liger.
