Salman Khan’s stardom is undeniable, and his acts of kindness frequently make the news. One of his lesser-known but incredibly impactful gestures was his donation of bone marrow. Back in 2010, his selfless act helped save a young girl’s life, earning him headlines for all the right reasons. Recently, Salman Khan has been in the spotlight due to an incident outside his home, but it’s his compassionate deeds that truly define him.

Salman’s Bone Marrow Donation

In 2010, Salman Khan took a significant step by donating his bone marrow to help a young girl in need. He registered with the Marrow Donor Registry India (MDRI) to be a donor if the need arose. This notable action brought him a lot of attention.

According to report, people suffering from diseases and are deeply thankful to Salman Khan for his willingness to help. Four years earlier, Salman learned about a little girl named Pooja who needed a bone marrow transplant. He asked his entire football team to donate marrow. Unfortunately, at the last moment, everyone else withdrew, but Salman and Arbaaz were the only ones who went through with it and became the first donors.

Salman’s Thoughts on Bone Marrow Donation

At that time, Salman spoke about the challenges of bone marrow donation in India, saying, ‘We only have around 5,000 donors. The lack of awareness and our attitude towards donation are major issues. Donating marrow can save lives and is as simple as a blood test. I understand that some people are even afraid of blood tests, but by being a little brave, you can make a big difference.’

In a 2022 interview with Bollywood Hungama, Sunil Shetty recalled Salman’s bone marrow donation and said, “Salman Khan donated his marrow years ago. Only those who truly want to make a difference in the world do such things, and that’s why God is so kind to him. God is watching over him. He is truly God’s favorite.

As for Salman’s upcoming projects, reports suggest that he will soon appear in an action film directed by A. R. Murugadoss, known for his work on ‘Ghajini’.
