The equation between Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone has always been a topic of keen interest for their fans; thanks to Ranveer Singh. Anushka was allegedly in a relationship with Ranveer and later after this breakup, he started dating Ram Leela co-star Deepika Padukone.
Reportedly Anushka and Deepika did not share a very cordial relationship in the past. Anushka even made many nasty comments about her rumoured ex’s girlfriend Deepika on public platforms. Well, we all know that Bollywood is incomplete without competition and catfights. There is no doubt that Anushka and Deepika were rivals at one point and were at the top of their game.
Anushka and Deepika were involved in a bitter catfight in the past. The actresses made headlines after Anushka reportedly slammed Deepika after slashing her endorsement fee to grab a deal that was offered to Deepika a few years ago.
In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Anushka had said, “There is no comparison between Deepika and me. Nothing links us. We do different kinds of films. In fact, she has done more films. I’ve been choosy. I have not picked up just about any role that came my way.” About slashing her endorsement fee, the actress had said, “I don’t need to do that. I have enough brands. And each one of them has renewed the contract, some of them for the third time. I don’t think that’s happening with other heroines. I must be doing something right.”
Anushka Sharma further said, “A friend of Deepika had called up to say that she is doing Yeh Jawaani Hai Diwani and not Anushka. My ‘friends’ don’t call, do they? I am Kashyap’s and Hirani’s choice. She is Ayan’s and whosoever’s. I never pull anybody down. That makes me nice, right? Stop throwing garbage at me since I don’t throw garbage at you. We call ourselves cool but we are actually not. I’m not saying I’m better or worse than X. I am in a damn good position myself. Nobody can take it away from me by deriding me.”
Even when Anushka had appeared on Koffee with Karan with Katrina Kaif, she said that Deepika is not her friend. When Deepika was asked the same about it, Padukone said that she is extremely fond of Katrina and Anushka professionally and personally and that she wishes them all the best. Well, this all is in the past now and both the actresses are at a great place professionally and personally.
