Akshay Kumar’s wife and daughter of late Rajesh Khanna, Twinkle Khanna may have a short-lived on-screen career, she continues to steal the limelight as a successful writer and entrepreneur. One of her most prominent roles was in the film Mela which featured Aamir Khan and Faisal Khan in lead roles.

Though the movie was a total dud at the box office, it was instrumental in kick-starting Twinkle and Akshay’s love story. Back in 2015, Aamir was a part of Twinkle Khanna’s debut book launch. He told host Karan Johar about working with Twinkle and her acting abilities. Twinkle, who had made peace with the fact that she doesn’t have her yesteryear superstar dad Rajesh Khanna’s acting genes, declared after Mela that she wouldn’t return to the profession.

Aamir highlighted that everyone has different abilities and while speaking about Twinkle, he said she has a talent of “insulting people”. “Well you know all of us have different abilities, and Twinkle is really talented in some of the most amazing activities like insulting people. She’s an expert at insulting people. All through my life since I have known her she has just constantly insulted me,” he had said.

He then praised Twinkle for her sense of humour and said, “But it was really good working with her because behind this bimbette kind of exterior, there was actually this sharp person, who had a great intellect, and sense of humour and was extremely perceptive about human beings and I found that quite fascinating.”

Twinkle never fails to shares all about that is happening in her life on social media. She is an author of three hit books – Mrs Funnybones, Pyjamas are Forgiving and The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad. She also has a weekly column at a reputable newspaper wherein she talks about the culture, societal issues while adding a bit of satire and humour.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Aamir will be seen in the upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha. The film is being directed by Advait Chandan and co-stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Naga Chaitanya. The movie is a loose adaptation of the Hollywood Oscar-winning film Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks. It is set to release on April 14, 2022.
