West Bengal LoP Suvendu Adhikari’s Convoy Attacked In Khagrabari; BJP Blames TMC For Attempt To Muzzle Opposition

Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari faced protests in North Bengal’s Khagrabari area on Tuesday when his convoy was attacked with sticks. According to information received, alleged TMC supporters showed black flags, raised “thief” slogans, and protested against the National Register of Citizens (NRC) when Adhikari’s convoy was passing through the area.

The BJP has strongly criticised the incident and accused the Trinamool Congress of carrying out the attack, which it calls an attempt to suppress the voice of the opposition. Suvendu Adhikari was scheduled to address a public meeting on law and order and women’s safety in Cooch Behar today.

Suvendu Adhikari and his party MLAs were on their way to the office of the Superintendent of Police of Cooch Behar district to submit a memorandum regarding the recent incidents of attacks on party leaders.
