Tesla CEO Elon Musk has expressed regret over his recent remarks about United States President Donald Trump. In an X post, Musk admitted that he “went too far” with his statements. Notably, the former DOGE head and SpaceX CEO had made series of statements about Trump, that shocked everyone, given their rapport in the past. The remarks had fuelled speculation that all is not well between Trump and Musk, which was later confirmed by President himself.

Musk wrote on X, “I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far.”

The online strife between Trump and Musk had escalated to an extent, with the US President declaring that he has no desire to repair their relationship. Trump had warned that his campaign benefactor, (Elon Musk) could face “serious consequences” if he tries to help the Democrats in the upcoming elections.

In a telephonic interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker, when asked whether his relationship with Tesla CEO Musk is over, Trump stated, “I would assume so, yeah.” He had said that he has no plans to mend the relationship with his former ally.

“I’m too busy doing other things, you know, I won an election in a landslide. I gave him a lot of breaks, long before this happened, I gave him breaks in my first administration, and saved his life in my first administration, I have no intention of speaking to him,” Trump had remarked.

Notably, the dramatic spat between Trump and Musk had unfolded after Tesla CEO criticised Trump’s spending legislation. Musk warned that the bill would “massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to USD 2.5 trillion”, suggesting “Congress is making America bankrupt.” In a series of post on X, Musk called the bill a “disgusting abomination.”
