KL Rahul is known for his elegant batting and the classic shots he plays while representing any team on the cricket field. Rahul has also gained importance due to his aggressive batting in the T20I format and at one point he also held the record for the fastest half-century in the Indian Premier League. However, in the past few times, Rahul has struggled with his strike rate which also hampered his batting while playing for India and Lucknow Super Giants as well. While the right-handed Indian batter has been dropped from Team India’s white-ball squad, he was also released by the Lucknow Super Giants and will go all out in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

KL Rahul Reflects On Side Effects Of Animated Chat With Sanjiv Goenka

KL Rahul was in the headlines during the Indian Premier League 2024 when he had an animated chat with Lucknow Super Giants co-owner Sanjiv Goenka. LSG was hammered by the Sunrisers Hyderabad by ten wickets when the duo of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma completed the chase in a matter of just 10 overs. Sajiv Goenka didn’t look happy with the team’s performance and it looked like he scolded Rahul for the team’s loss. While, there were several speculations regarding the issue among the fans, Rahul didn’t give a single statement regarding the matter.

However, the right-handed Indian batter has spoken for the first time regarding his animated conversation with Sanjiv Goenka. Speaking to Star Sports, KL Rahul revealed that it was a big shock for the side as they almost had to win every match at that point of time. Rahul added that everything that happened on the cricket field wasn’t the nicest thing to be the part of and it also affected him for a while.

KL Rahul said, “As a team, we were all in shock because we were at the stage in that tournament where every game was very important. We had to win, I think, three out of five games or two out of the last four games. When this happened, it was just a big shock for all of us.”

“Whatever happened on the field after the game wasn’t the nicest thing to be part of or something that anyone wants to see on the cricket field. I think it did affect the entire group. We still had a chance to make it into the playoffs. We had a chat as a team and tried to regroup, put everything aside, and try to put our best foot forward. We tried our best, but unfortunately, our best wasn’t good enough always. It was a bummer that we couldn’t really make the playoffs or win the season as we had hoped”, he added.

There will be many teams in the Indian Premier League which would like to rope in KL Rahul in their squad. Rahul has been a brilliant asset for every team as he can bat at any position and also keep behind the wickets whenever the team needs him to do so. There are several teams which can target KL Rahul and this includes the likes of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings.
