‘We Are More Than…’ – Mike Arteta Eyes Comeback After 1-0 Loss As Arsenal Prepare For PSG Showdown In Paris

After getting defeated by the score of 1-0 Mike Arteta insists Arsenal can do ‘something special’ as they will face PSG once again on 8th May for the 2nd leg of the Champions League semi-finals. Which ever team will win, that team will face either Barcelona/Inter Milan in the final race for the UEFA Champions League title.

What Mike Areta Said

Arteta said: “We are at half-time, and my message is exactly the same as it was after we beat Real Madrid 3-0 in the first leg of the quarter-final. We have to go to Paris and win the game, and we are more than capable of doing it.

“If you want to win the Champions League final, you have to do something special, and we are going to have to do something special in Paris to be there. We still have a lot of chances to be in that final.”

“We had two one-on-ones with Donnarumma and if they go in, it is a different story,” added Arteta. “But he made the saves, and that’s the difference in the Champions League. The margins are so small, and it didn’t go our way.”

 

Match Summary

PSG won by a single goal in their Champions League semifinal first match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. The goal scorer Dembélé netted early during the fourth minute off a swift move initiated by Kvaratskhelia. PSG started the match with dominance that led them to numerous thwarted Raya shots but Arsenal built steady progression toward meaningful attacking positions to close the first half. Donnarumma delivered powerful defensive work during the whole contest and the VAR system ruled out Merino’s first goal for being offside as PSG maintained a slim lead heading into the second encounter.
