Virat Kohli slammed his 30th Test ton and 81st international century in the Perth Test against Australia on Sunday. As soon as Kohli completed his hundred, Team India declared their second innings on 487/6, with a total lead of 533 runs. Hosts Australia now have a mammoth target to get in the fourth innings.

During his innings, Kohli stitched notable partnerships with Yashasvi Jaiswal, Washington Sundar and Nitish Reddy to take India’s overall lead beyond 500 runs. His remarkable innings has resulted in the creation of several records.

With his seventh Test ton in Australia, Kohli has broken batting legend Sachin Tendulkar’s record of hitting six Test centuries in Australia.

The star India batter notched up his ninth Test century against Australia.

Kohli is now jointly tied with Sunil Gavaskar (seven Test tons in West Indies) for hitting most Test hundreds in an away country for India. He has overtaken Rahul Dravid ( six Test hundreds in England) and Sachin Tendulkar (Six Test centuries in Australia).

In the list of most Test hundreds against an opponent for India, Kohli is now two tons less than Sachin Tendulkar (11 Test centuries against Australia) and four tons less than Sunil Gavaskar (13 Test centuries against West Indies).

In the list of batters with most Test hundreds in Australia, Kohli (Seven Test tons) is at the joint second position, only behind Jack Hobbs (Nine Test centuries).

Kohli shuts the voice of his critics

Before the tour to Australia, Kohli’s form was in question after a slump in the 0-3 series whitewash against New Zealand recently. The right-handed batter has now shut questions over his place in the longest format for Team India.
