Virat Kohli Just 53 Runs Away From Setting A New IPL Record In RCB Vs CSK Match

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star player Virat Kohli is set to achieve a new milestone against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Match 52 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match will be held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Kohli’s Exceptional Form In IPL 2025

The ex-RCB captain has been in dream form this season. With 443 runs from 10 games, Kohli is third on the list of highest run-scorers in IPL 2025. His effort has been underpinned by a strike rate of 138.87 and features six half-centuries, highlighting his reliability at the top of the order.

Virat Kohli Aims New Milestone

Kohli is now on the brink of etching his name into the record books yet again. He needs just 53 more runs to become the first cricketer in history to cross 8500 runs in the IPL. Having already amassed 8447 runs in 262 matches, he is well on track to hit the milestone.

A Look At Kohli’s Incredible IPL Legacy

The Indian batting legend averages an impressive 39.47 in his IPL career. His staggering tally includes 8 centuries and 61 fifties. Kohli has smashed 744 boundaries and cleared the ropes 285 times since making his debut in 2008. Remarkably, he is the only player to have represented a single franchise RCB in every IPL season to date.

Rohit Sharma Just Behind Virat Kohli

The second-highest IPL run-getter is Rohit Sharma with 6921, followed by Shikhar Dhawan (6769), who left the IPL in 2024 after an excellent stint at various franchises with a final parting shot playing for Punjab Kings.

Former Sunrisers Hyderabad captain and IPL 2016 winner David Warner is fourth on the list with 6565 runs. Warner remained unsold in the 2025 mega-auction and has since migrated his skills to other T20 leagues.
