In Hyderabad, at the prelaunch event of the Suriya-starrer of Retro, Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda expressed his deep emotions regarding the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. He talked about how terrorists are manipulated and also requested the nation’s people to stay united during these difficult times.

Vijay Deverakonda Shares His Views On Kashmir

Highlighting the importance of education in resistance to brainwashing to stop terrorism. He spoke, “The solution to what is happening in Kashmir is also to educate them (terrorists) and ensure they don’t get brainwashed. What will they achieve? Kashmir belongs to India, and Kashmiris are ours. Two years ago, I shot for Kushi in Kashmir. I have such good memories with them (the locals).”

The actor targeted Pakistan by saying the citizens of this country are not happy because of a lack of resource availability. Further, he added, “Pakistan can’t even look after their own, who don’t have proper electricity and water. What do they want to do here? India doesn’t even need to attack Pakistan because Pakistanis themselves are fed up with their government and will attack them if this continues. They behave like tribals did 500 years ago with the way they fight. We should stand united as people and love each other. We always need to move forward as people and stay united. Education is super key. Let’s all be happy and keep our parents happy; only then can we progress.”

On the internet, some people are appreciating his move of speaking his mind in public, while a few others are trolling the actor for his political remarks at the entertainment event.

On The Workfront

Vijay was last seen in the 2024 movie ‘The Family Star’, where Mrunal Thakur acted opposite him. He also made a small appearance as Arjun in Kalki 2898 AD, a movie starring Prabhas. Right now, he is working on ‘Kingdom’ directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri and another movie by Rahul Sankrithyan, which does not have a title yet. Retro, a movie starring Suriya and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, will be released in theatres in May.
