Uttar Pradesh: Terror suspect Humaidur Rehman surrenders at Kareli police station in Prayagraj

Terror suspect Humaidur Rehman, wanted by the Uttar Pradesh UP Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), has surrendered at the Kareli police station in Prayagraj.

Rehman was wanted by the UP ATS in connection with the recent terror plot busted in tandem with the Delhi police special cell.

According to police sources. Rehman is the uncle of Osama who has been arrested from the Jamia Nagar area in Delhi on the same charges. He is also identified as the father in law of Amir Javed arrested from UP’s Lucknow on terror charges.

During the course of the investigation, Osama and Zeeshan have told the investigators that they were told how to carry out a chemical blast and to make IEDs in a short period of time. What’s important is that for the first time ISI used doctored video of the Delhi riots along with the Gujarat and 1993 blast to indoctrinate the suspects.

Maharashtra ATS arrests terror suspect

Meanwhile, a joint team of Maharashtra ATS and Mumbai Police Crime Branch has taken a person into custody from the Jogeshwari area of the city in connection with the terror module busted by Delhi Police earlier this week.

On Tuesday, the Special Cell of the Delhi Police had busted a Pakistan-backed terror module and arrested six persons, including two – Zeeshan and Javed – who were trained in Pakistan.

The Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) had trained the two terrorists to blow bridges and railway tracks in order to cause mass casualties in India.

A total of 1.5 kg of RDX was found in terrorists’ possession when they were caught by the Special Cell earlier this week. Sources said this amount of RDX was enough to cause large-scale destruction.
