Authorities reported that one person was killed when a private jet collided with another plane after landing at a U.S. airport, marking the latest in a series of deadly aviation accidents in the country.

“Hazards are developing,” said Dave Folio from the Scottsdale Fire Department. “We have five people on board, one dead, two immediately transported to local trauma centers, and one person possibly trapped inside the plane. Our units are working closely to try and free that individual.”

The collision at Scottsdale Airport involved a Learjet 35A, which veered off the runway and crashed into a Gulfstream 200 business jet on the ramp. A spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated, “We do not yet know how many people were on board. The FAA has temporarily halted flights into the airport.”

The authorities confirmed one fatality, with three others taken to the hospital, and one person still trapped inside the plane.

This crash is the latest in a series of recent aviation tragedies in the U.S. On January 30, a commercial aircraft collided midair with a U.S. Army helicopter in Washington, killing all 67 people aboard both aircraft. The following crash involved a medical plane crashing into a busy Philadelphia neighborhood, killing seven and injuring 19 others. Just last week, a small aircraft crashed in Alaska while carrying ten people, with no survivors.
