the police seized two plots of land worth nearly ₹6 crore that were purchased by a friend of slain gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, officials said.

ACP (Civil Lines) Shwetabh Pandey said Atiq Ahmed bought these plots, measuring about 1,344 square meters, under the name of his acquaintance, Shyamji Saroj. The officer mentioned that the land is valued at around ₹6 crore.

Criminal Assets Of Atiq Ahmed Seized

He explained that Atiq Ahmed’s immovable property, bought using money and influence gained from criminal activities, was seized under Section 14 (1) of the Gangster Act. A board has been placed on the site, and the inspector of Naini police station has been appointed as its administrator.

On April 15 last year, three men disguised as journalists shot Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf at close range while police were escorting them to a medical college in Prayagraj for a checkup.
