However, she stressed that the Congress party is open to forging an alliance, “I do not rule out (alliance). We are absolutely not closed-minded. We are having an open mind,” PTI quoted the Congress leader as saying.

“Our aim is to defeat the BJP,” she said, adding other political parties should also be open-minded. “I have an open mind, but my priority is my party,” Priyanka added

Ealrier on Saturday, Priyanka exhorted the party workers on Saturday not to be “afraid” and said they should work round the clock to win the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls next year.

“If the organisation is seen today, it is because of you. If the Congress has come into discussions, it is because of you,” Priyanka Gandhi, who has been holding meetings with the party workers since her arrival here on Friday, told Congress workers at the party headquarters here.

The Legislative Assembly elections will be held in Uttar Pradesh in the month of February to March 2022 to elect 403 members of the House. The term of the current assembly elected in 2017 will expire on March 14,  2022
