‘Two-finger test was not done’, IAF chief Chaudhary on Coimbatore rape case

According to a new a development in the Coimbatore rape case, the Indian Air Force (IAF) chief Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari on Wednesday clarified that the survivor was not made to undergo the banned two-finger test during her medical examination. The development pertains to the alleged rape of an IAF officer at the Air Force Administrative College (AFAC) in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. 

Addressing the reports that the survivor was allegedly subjected to the two-finger test, IAF chief Air Chief Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari said, “IAF law is very strict on any such incident. The two-finger test conducted on a woman officer is misreported. No, two-finger test was not done. “

Due action will be taken: IAF Chief 

The said statement was made when the IAF chief spoke to the media on several issues. News agency ANI quoted Chaudhari as saying, “We’re well aware of the rules and all due action would be taken. “

Initially, the woman, who was allegedly raped by a Flight Lieutenant within the premises of the AFAC in Coimbatore. The woman had also alleged that senior authorities had forced her to withdraw her complaint against the accused. 

The woman had approached the police on September 20, alleging rape by the Flight Lieutenant. The police arrested the accused on September 25. The IAF, however, had sought custody of the accused from the police. ” According to Coimbatore city police Commissioner Deepak D Damor said that the woman had said that she was “not satisfied” with the action taken internally.
