The newly-appointed chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Board B R Naidu  said that his primary effort would be to ensure that all those who work at TTD should be Hindus. Naidu added that he would speak to the Andhra Pradesh government on how to deal with staff members belonging to other religions and whether they should be sent to other government departments or given voluntary Retirement.

Speaking to reporters, Naidu said, “Everyone who works at Tirumala should be Hindu. That would be my first effort. There are many issues in this. We have to look into that,” said B R Naidu. He added, “I will talk to government about the people from other religions, working in Tirumala on first priority whether to shift them to other departments or give them VRS.”

The TDP-led Andhra Pradesh government had constituted a new board with 24 members for Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Wednesday. Founder of the Telugu TV channel, TV5, B R Naidu was appointed as the new chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD).

What Did The Newly-Appointed Chairman Say?

Expressing happiness on his appointment, Naidu said that he feels fortunate to be appointed as the Chairman. He thanked Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu and NDA government for giving him this post. He said, “I feel fortunate to be appointed as TTD Chairman. I was born and brought up in Chittoor district. We used to frequently go to Tirumala. I thank Chandrababu Naidu and NDA leaders for appointing me. I consider this a turning point in my life.”

After his appointment, he attacked previous YSRCP government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and said that they made a lot of mistakes. His statement comes amid Tirupati Laddu row, the matter which is in the Supreme Court. He alleged that Tirumala lost upon its sanctity during YSRCP regime. Naidu said, “The previous government made a lot of mistakes there. I did not go to Tirumala even once in 5 years because I felt that it did not have its sanctity. Earlier, I used to go to Tirumala 5-6 times a year.”

Furthermore, he added that he has discussed several issues pertaining to TTD with Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu. “I have discussed with CM Chandrababu Naidu about these issues. I intend to just work there not with the intention of gaining anything,” said Naidu.
