Trump Repeats Claim of Brokering India-Pakistan Ceasefire – ‘I Got It Done’; Arrives in Kuala Lumpur for 47th ASEAN Summit

US President Donald Trump reiterated  that he averted a war between India and Pakistan and brokered a ceasefire between the two neighboring nations. Speaking with reporters aboard Air Force One, while he was on the way to attend the ASEAN Summit in Malaysia, Trump said, “I got it done (ceasefire). There are others. If you look at India and Pakistan. I could say almost any one of the deals that I’ve already done I thought would have been more difficult than Russia and Ukraine, but it didn’t work out that way.”

The American President made the above statements when asked whether he would meet Russian President Vladimir Putin. While interacting, Trump claimed that the Russian President praised him for his efforts in mediating peace in other hostilities, including in Azerbaijan and Armenia.

“We have to know that we’re going to make a deal. I’m not going to be wasting my time. I’ve always had a great relationship with Vladimir Putin, but this has been very disappointing. I thought this would have gone long before peace in the Middle East. We have Azerbaijan and Armenia. That was very tough. In fact, Putin told me on the phone, he said, ‘Boy, that was amazing,’ because everybody tried to get that done, and they couldn’t,” Trump said.

Trump Set To Meet Chinese President

Ahead of his upcoming meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, the US President said, “I may be discussing it (purchase of Russian oil)… China’s cutting back very substantially on the purchase of Russian oil, and India’s cutting back completely, and we’ve imposed sanctions… I want our farmers to be taken care of, and he wants things also.” Trump further added that he will also hold talks about fentanyl with the Chinese President, as it is killing a lot of people.

Trump Warns Hamas

US President Donald Trump has given Hamas a 48-hour deadline to ‘quickly’ return the deceased hostages’ bodies, including two American citizens, who were taken during the deadly October 7 attack on Israel. The Republican leader warned the militant organization that failure to comply would affect future negotiations.

In a post on Truth Social late Saturday, Trump said, “We have a very strong PEACE in the Middle East, and I believe it has a good chance of being EVERLASTING. Hamas is going to have to start returning the bodies of the deceased hostages, including two Americans, quickly, or the other Countries involved in this GREAT PEACE will take action.”

Trump Reaches Kuala Lumpur

Trump was greeted by Malaysian officials as he arrived at Kuala Lumpur to attend the ASEAN summit. The US President is on a three-nation tour, during which he will visit Japan and South Korea after Malaysia.
