The much-anticipated Aashiqui 3 has reportedly been delayed indefinitely, with Triptii Dimri exiting the project. Speculations about the delay surfaced shortly after her involvement was announced, raising questions about the future of the romantic franchise.

Triptii Dimri Exits Amid Title Disputes

According to reports, Triptii Dimri, who initially expressed excitement about being part of Aashiqui 3, has stepped away from the project. Sources suggest title-related disputes might have contributed to the delay. A report by Zoom further claimed that Triptii’s ‘bold image’ in her upcoming film Animal didn’t align with the makers’ vision for the franchise, prompting them to seek a fresh face for the female lead.

The Aashiqui franchise, known for its innocence and charm, is reportedly searching for an actor who fits the series’ legacy. Triptii Dimri’s departure has left the team looking for someone with the right blend of innocence and charisma to pair with Kartik Aaryan.

While Aashiqui 3 faces delays, Kartik Aaryan is teaming up with director Anurag Basu for a brand-new romantic saga. Reports suggest the project will begin production in January or February 2025, with initial filming planned in Mumbai. Casting for the female lead is currently underway.

Aashiqui Franchise Legacy

The Aashiqui franchise began in 1990 with Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal in lead roles, capturing the hearts of audiences. Its sequel, featuring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, released in 2013 and achieved critical and commercial success. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the third installment, which was expected to feature Kartik Aaryan in the lead.

As fans await an official confirmation from the filmmakers, the delay of Aashiqui 3 and the changes in its cast continue to spark speculation. For now, all eyes are on Kartik Aaryan’s collaboration with Anurag Basu in their upcoming romantic project.
