Gearing up for Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) crucial meeting with former champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, Indian skipper Virat Kohli enjoyed a fruitful net session at his franchise camp on Tuesday. Refreshing his abilities with the willow, run machine Kohli was seen hammering the RCB bowlers in a practice session.

The talismanic skipper of the RCB franchise was lauded by legendary Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi on social media. Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, the former Pakistan captain hailed Kohli for always giving his 100 percent in the practice sessions. Afridi’s praiseworthy tweet for RCB captain Kohli soon became the talk of the town on social media.

One of the finest players in the modern era of the gentlemen’s game, RCB captain Kohli often gets the credit for improving the fitness standards of his team. Kohli was in ominous touch during the RCB practice session as the batting maestro’s bat played some crackling sound in the nets. Kohli gave his fans a sneak-peak of his batting preparations on the eve of RCB’s IPL 2021 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

In Kohli’s final IPL season as RCB captain, the three-time runners-up have qualified for the business end of the competition. Kohli-led RCB side has joined MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) in the playoffs stage for this season’s IPL. Under Kohli’s leadership, the Bangalore-based franchise has picked up 16 points from 12 matches in the league phase of the cash-rich tournament.

Kohli, who is the all-time leading run-getter in the history of the IPL, has amassed 357 runs from 12 games. After the conclusion of the IPL’s 14th season in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kohli will lead Team India in the 2021 edition of the ICC World T20. Kohli-led Team India will open their World Cup campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan in Dubai.
