‘To defeat BJP’: Ex-Goa CM Faleiro reveals Prashant Kishor approached for switch-over to TMC

: Former Goa chief minister Luizinho Faleiro  revealed that he was approached by political strategist Prashant Kishor for the switch over to Trinamool Congress (TMC).

Faleiro, who recently quit the Congress, further revealed that he didn’t meet any TMC leader before joining the party.

“I didn’t meet TMC leaders. I met I-PAC, I met Prashant Kishor from I-PAC just before I took the decision & had interaction with him. It was difficult for me to leave Congress, but finally, in the interest of Goa, country and to defeat BJP, I joined TMC,” ANI quoted Faleiro as saying.

Former Goa chief minister had joined the Trinamool Congress on Wednesday along with ten other leaders.

“Today, when I am joining TMC, my dream is to bring the Congress family together. My main mission behind joining TMC is to defeat BJP and its divisive policies, the culture of hatred and vengeance,” he had said.

He also called for uniting various factions of the grand old party under the leadership of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to fight the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Earlier, the TMC asserted it will contest the 2022 Goa assembly election on its own, while Banerjee, welcoming Faleiro and several other leaders of the Western state into the party, said they will fight for every Goan together.

Goa is slated to go to the polls early next year.
