Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC), saying the party no longer utters “Maa, Maati, Maanus” (mother, motherland and people), as doing so would expose its “sins.” He alleged that the TMC’s “cruelty” made “Maa” (mother) cry, handed over “Maati” (motherland) to syndicates and infiltrators, and forced the “Maanus” (people) of Bengal to flee.
Addressing a public rally in Bangaon, PM Modi said, “This election in Bengal is in its final phase, but you must have noticed one thing. 15 years ago, the TMC came to power by talking about ‘Maa, Maati, Maanus’ (mother, motherland and people), now they can’t even utter those words… I’ll tell you the reason behind this… If these TMC people utter those words, their sins will be exposed. The cruelty of TMC made ‘Maa’ (mother) cry, handed over ‘Maati’ (motherland) to syndicate and infiltrators, and forced the ‘Maanus’ (people) of Bengal to flee.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the high voter turnout in the first phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections has “shattered” the TMC’s arrogance.
“Bengal has done wonders in the first phase of voting… The TMC’s arrogance has been shattered in the first phase. Now, in the second phase, the BJP government’s overwhelming victory is becoming certain,” he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleged that under the TMC’s “Maha Jungleraj,” even local leaders and goons act like the government.
Paltano Dorkar: PM Modi
He said the Hooghly region, once an industrial hub, has seen factories shut down, with only a “syndicate system of cut-money and commissions” still operating. “Such a government must go. Bengal needs change,” he said, citing the slogan “Paltano Dorkar.”
“In the ‘Maha Jungleraj’ of TMC, even the smallest leaders and goons consider themselves to be the government. The area around the Hooghly River used to be a hub of mills and factories, but today, there are reports of locks on those mills. The factories of the British era are also being shut down. Only one ‘factory,’ only one ‘shop,’ remains open, and that shop is the Syndicate’s cut-money and commissioneering. Such a government will have to leave. Such a government must be removed. This is why Bengal has only one slogan and only one decision: ‘Paltano Dorkar’ (Bengali for ‘Change is Necessary’).”
He also alleged that crimes against women are being ignored, saying daughters are going missing while the government remains “asleep.”
PM Modi said, “Under TMC’s ‘Maha Jungleraj’, the daughters are going missing from here, but the TMC government is sleeping. They have no worries about the daughters. But not anymore. These goons, these rapists – after May 4th, the BJP government will make them pay… that is why I have come to tell all the sisters: now, we must not tolerate this. We have to get rid of these tyrants.”
