THIS Murthal Dhaba, Originally Built For Truck Drivers, Earns More Than Rs 25 Lakhs Daily – Details Inside

For many Delhi travelers, a preferred stop on the way to Chandigarh or nearby hill stations is the iconic Amrik Sukhdev Dhaba in Murthal. This dhaba is situated on NH-1, where travelers with their friends and family often gather to break their journey.

This dhaba, stood with the testimony of time and at any given time, you’ll find more than 600 people having the taste of various dishes across over 150 tables, generating substantial revenue for this popular stopover.

CA Sarthak Ahuja, few months down the line, shared an in-depth analysis of Amrik Sukhdev’s business and earnings on Instagram. Ahuja estimated that the dhaba serves around 9,000 people daily, with 600 people present at any given time. With a table turnaround time of 45 minutes, the dhaba generates significant revenue. Ahuja assumed an average spend of Rs 300 per person, this dhaba earns approximately Rs 27 lakhs daily. This translates into a staggering monthly revenue of Rs 8 crore.

Ahuja also factored in additional revenue streams from outside the dine-in experience, such as takeaways and other sales. He estimated that Amrik Sukhdev’s annual turnover could easily surpass Rs 100 crore, regardless of the amount the Dhaba spend in their public relations campaigns.

Ahuja estimated that the dhaba incurs the minimal rent expenses, likely due to the family’s ownership of the land. He said that Amrik Sukhdev has a workforce of around 500 employees, each earning an average monthly salary of Rs 25,000, which translates Dhaba’s labor costs be only about 5% of their total expenses.

Murthal Dhaba: Initially Built For Truck Drivers

Founded in 1956 by Sardar Prakash Singh, this iconic Dhaba initially served as a humble stop for truck drivers. Today, it is managed by his sons, Amrik Singh and Sukhdev Singh, who have successfully carried forward the legacy.
