Tesla Accelerates India Expansion With Second Retail Centre In Delhi’s Aerocity, Weeks After Mumbai Debut

Further strengthening its hold in the electric vehicle market in India, Tesla is all set to launch its second retail centre in the country. The new Tesla Experience Centre will open on August 11 at the premium WorldMark 3 campus in Aerocity, Delhi, serving customers in the national capital region, a key hub of India’s EV push.

The new centre comes just weeks after the inauguration of the first showroom at Maker Maxity Mall in Mumbai on July 15. The Mumbai launch was attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He welcomed Tesla’s arrival in the state and invited it to set up R&D and manufacturing units.

The centre at Aerocity is currently in the final construction stage, and its monthly rent is said to be around Rs 25 lakh. Pictures of the outlet have already surfaced on social media, reflecting the brand’s premium image. Tesla currently offers only one model in India, Model Y, with prices starting at Rs 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

It Comes In Two Variants:

Standard rear-wheel drive, with a 60 kWh battery, 500 km WLTP-certified range.

Long-range rear-wheel drive, with a 75 kWh battery, up to 622 km range.

Deliveries are being prioritised for customers in cities like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Gurugram, where the vehicles will be delivered directly to homes on flat-bed trucks.

Tesla has also updated its website to allow vehicle registration in all states and union territories, expanding its reach beyond the initial cities.
The full self-driving (FSD) feature is shown as an optional feature worth Rs 6 lakh on the website, though it will be rolled out in India later.

The Model Y launch also marks the launch of Tesla’s India website, signalling the company’s seriousness and intention to expand its operations in India despite challenges related to EV policy and infrastructure.
