Grandson of veteran actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao and nephew of actor Nagarjuna, Sushanth has made quite a name for himself in the Telugu film industry. He made his debut in 2008 with the movie Kalidasu and went on to star in quite a few big films. The actor is now gearing up for the release of his next, Ichata Vahanamulu Niluparadu.
Recently, in an interaction with us, Sushanth opened up about how many actors and actresses from the south film industry are venturing into Bollywood or are singing pan-India films.
When asked if a Bollywood movie is on cards for him, the actor said, “Obviously, it would be great but not immediately right now, unless something great comes by, I don’t see but Bollywood debut as a film going on. But what’s interesting as the OTT market is really evolved, I got a couple of calls for a few big web series that are going to happen in Hindi and nothing is finalised yet, but it was interesting to know that people in Mumbai knew about me and approached me for a Hindi web series like an ensemble cast.”
“I think I would be excited about that to share the screen with actors around the country even if it is an important role in a Hindi web series, I would like to explore that. At least I am not out there trying to debut in Hindi but if something interesting comes by, I would be happy to explore it,” he added.
Further, when asked which actress would he like to feature opposite if he signs a Bollywood project, Sushanth said, “That’s a tough one. Let it happen, I don’t want to get ahead of myself.”
The actor went on to share that he liked Kriti Sanon’s work in her recently released film, Mimi. He shared, “I do watch a lot of Hindi films and thanks to being in Hyderabad, we do speak Hindi here. Recently, I watched Mimi and I really liked Kriti Sanon in it and I tweeted about it. I think she was also coming out of her comfort zone, trying new things and I really liked her work.”
During the interaction, Sushanth also talked about his film Ichata Vahanamulu Niluparadu and how he wishes that people would come to theatres with full precaution to watch the movie. He also shared that he was a bit nervous while working during the pandemic but things got better later.
