Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav narrowly escaped injury after a speeding truck collided with two vehicles in his convoy on the Patna-Muzaffarpur national highway in Bihar’s Vaishali district early Saturday. Three security personnel were injured in the incident but are reported to be stable.
The incident occurred around 12:30 AM near Goraul, when Yadav’s convoy, returning from Madhepura to Patna, stopped for a tea break. According to Yadav, a speeding truck rammed into two escort vehicles, missing his car by just five feet. “I immediately alerted the district police and administration,” Yadav said, emphasizing the need for action against traffic rule violators.
Injuries And Response
A top police officer confirmed that Yadav’s car was intact, but three security officials were injured. They were rushed to a government hospital nearby where their condition is stable. Yadav went to the hospital to inquire about the injured officials, the officer said.
Police Action
The driver of the truck was detained and the vehicle impounded, police said. The authorities are looking into the matter with a view to implementing stricter traffic laws to avoid such accidents.
Call For Accountability
Yadav called for action against those who are disobeying traffic rules, citing the risks involved in rash driving. The accident has initiated debates on road safety for high-profile convoys in the state of Bihar.
