Tamil Nadu Governor calls PFI a ‘very dangerous organisation’ with aim to ‘destabilise’ India; PFI state chief reacts

Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi  called the Popular Front of India (PFI) a “very dangerous organisation” with the aim to “destabilise” this country from within.
Speaking at an event, the Governor said, “Popular Front of India is a very dangerous org…essentially its aim is to destabilise this country from within.”
The Governor further said that the extremist Islamic group is getting support from some political parties.
He also noted that PFI takes up the mask as human rights, rehabilitation, student groups, political parties, among others and added that it is a “threat” about which everyone needs to be “very careful.”
“There are political parties that are supporting them for their own political vested interest. It’s a threat we need to be very careful about,” he said.
Reacting on Ravi’s remark, PFI state president Mohammed Sheikh Ansari called his allegations “baseless.”
Ansari said, “Baseless allegations are being levelled against PFI by the Governor.”
He further said that the Governor is just a mouthpiece of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the RSS.
“The Tamil Nadu Governor was thrown out of Nagaland because of his activities and he is following the similar methods in this state,” he said, adding that the organisation will see if it can explore legal options against him.
This comes a day after the group triggered a controversy by saying that the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) was like gangrene and that Muslims will have to make sacrifices to avoid it.
“We are in a democracy but soon the RSS and the BJP will put an end to this democracy. The RSS has become gangrene in this country, it will destroy this country. If you want to avoid this gangrene, then some sacrifice will have to be made, without pain there is no gain,” PFI General Secretary Mohammad Shakif said in a provocative speech in Mysuru.
