The spokesperson of the resistance forces in Afghanistan has claimed that the Taliban did not even enter Panjshir valley as opposed to their claims that it is under their control much like the other provinces in Afghanistan.

Fahim Dashty, Ahmad Massoud’s spokesperson, said fake videos are being circulated on social media as well as the mainstream media that show the Taliban entering Panjshir.

“We are here to defend Afghanistan, not just Panjshir,” Dashty, who said they are from the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, told . “We are here to stand for Afghanistan and for the people of Afghanistan and we are sure that we can do that,” he added.

Dashty said that negotiations are going on with the Taliban but they are not about Panjshir but for the future of Afghanistan.

He also blamed the Ashraf Ghani government and said that it failed in defending Afghanistan from the militant forces.

Further, Dashty said Taliban’s peace call was nothing but a propaganda.

The Taliban on Sunday said their forces entered Panjshir province from various directions on Saturday without facing any resistance. But Ahmad Massoud’s supporters denied the claim.

“No fighting occurred, but the mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan advanced from various directions without facing any resistance. The Islamic Emirate forces have entered Panjshir from different directions,” said Anaamullah Samangani, a member of the Taliban’s Cultural Commission, Tolo News reported.

“There is no fight in Panjshir and no one has entered the province,” said Mohammad Almas Zahid, head of the Resistance Front delegation, the report stated.
