Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati arrested from Agra over molestation of 17 girl students

Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswasti, the self-styled Godman, accused of sexually harassing 17 girl students at a private management institute in Vasant Kunj, has been arrested from a hotel in Agra . A team has left for Delhi from Agra and will produce him in the court later today. Two fake visiting cards were recovered from the Delhi Ashram Baba, Delhi Police said.

Chaitanyananda Saraswati, also known as Parth Sarthy, was apprehended in Agra. He had been absconding after the Delhi Police had registered a case against him under different sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). His car, with a fake UN number plate, was also impounded earlier. The accused is currently under interrogation.

The statements of 32 girls were recorded, out of which 17 alleged “abusive language, obscene WhatsApp/SMS messages, and unwanted physical contact by him.” The victims were the students pursuing PGDM courses under the EWS scholarship at his private engineering institute in Delhi.

A complaint was initially lodged against him on August 4, 2025, by the Administrator of Sri Sringeri Math & Its Properties, P.A. Murli. Additionally, there are allegations that some female faculty and administrative officials at the institute pressured the female students to comply with the accused’s demands. This is also mentioned in the return complaints, which said that these circumstances also led to mental and physical harassment of the female students.

Multiple raids were conducted at the institute and the accused’s residence. Meanwhile, the Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri, in a public statement made earlier, broke all ties with the accused.
