Supreme Court Seeks Response From Gyanvapi Masjid Committee On Plea For ASI Survey Of Sealed Area

The Supreme Court asks Gyanvapi Masjid Committee for their response on the plea filed by Hindu worshippers seeking the ASI survey of the area sealed in Mosque. The bench had given the next day for hearing, that is December 17. It mentioned that it will be taking other issues related to this case on the same day.

The bench had Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan. As per media reports, the bench has issued the notice to the committee which manages the mosque in the complex, that is ‘Committee of Management Anjuman Intezamia Masjid. Not only to them but they had issued notice to others over application filed by Hindu worshipers.

As per the application, the part of building sealed by the interim orders on May 20, 2022 and it got confirmed on November 11 in the same year, 2022, The Archaeological Survey of India COULD NOT DO SURVEY OF the sealed property in the question.

According to the application, there are important evidence related to the sealed area. As per the question the portion of the building is required to be surveyed by the ASI in the same way as the remaining area mentioned in question got surveyed.

Earlier the apex court had put hold for carbon dating of the “Shivling” stating that implementation of orders from High Court’s shall be delayed till the next hearing date.

The High Court put aside the order from Varanasi District judge, that rejected the application meant for scientific survey and carbon dating of the ‘Shivling’ on October 14 in the year 2022.
