Australia announced their 15-member squad for Champions Trophy 2025 and it features some of the big names including key game-changers. Pat Cummins will also be making his return after he has taken a short break and opted out of the Sri Lanka series. There were reports that he is doubtful for the marquee tournament due to knee injury but it was all shut down when Australia announced their squad today.

Josh Hazlewood will also be returning back after he was sidelined in Border-Gavaskar Trophy due to calf and side strains.

Why Australia Can Win Champions Trophy 2025?

When we talk about the ODI format, all the Indians are reminded of the bitter memories of 19 November 2023 ODI World Cup when Australia defeated India and broke their winning streak. The heartbreaking loss is still very much alive and remembered.

Pat Cummins has etched his name as the most successful captain for Australia, his presence of mind and they way he leads the team is just incredible. Going further he has all the biggies in his kitty whether its the Ashes, ODI World Cup, WTC or Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Australia also has some of the most lethal power hitters like Travis Head and Glenn Maxwell who’ll be a big headache for all the teams and if there’s a India vs Australia clash then it would be very difficult for India to beat the mighty Aussies.

Another important aspect is that Australia has strongest all-rounders: Marcus Stoinis, Pat, Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Marsh. The trio has time and then proven to be the ultimate game-changers.

The Aussies have shown their dominance with lethal bowling, Mitchell Starc is the most experience and destructive bowler, while others like Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa will add solid support.

Australia: The Biggest Threat For India?

While the infamous India vs Pakistan clash is looked upon as the greatest rivalry, Australia has emerged to be India’s biggest challenge. Recently in Border-Gavaskar Trophy Australia thrashed India by 3-1 and India will be looking forward to make a solid comeback. Over the years Australia has dominated the game and handed India some of the bitter defeats whether it is WTC final, Border-Gavaskar Trophy and ODI World Cup 2023. While India’s squad for Champions Trophy 2025 hasn’t been released the selectors will be eyeing to form a balanced team and work on the grey areas in order to defeat the Aussies or any other team.
