SpiceJet airline launched 14 new flights including 12 industry first non-stop flights. SpiceJet will be the first airline to connect Bhavnagar-Delhi, Bhavnagar-Surat, Gwalior-Jaipur, Kishangarh (Ajmer)-Mumbai, Pune-Tirupati and Varanasi-Dehradun. The airline also plans to launch a non-stop flight connecting Bhavnagar with Mumbai.

Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia flagged off the inaugural SpiceJet flight from Bhavnagar to Delhi virtually in the presence of MoS Civil Aviation, General (Dr) VK Singh (Retd), Aviation Secretary Pradeep Singh Kharola and CMD of SpiceJet, Ajay Singh, while Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani attended the event virtually. The inaugural flight took off from Bhavnagar at 3:45 PM today.

Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, SpiceJet, said, “The airline is committed to enhance regional connectivity. We will also be connecting Bhavnagar with Mumbai. Bhavnagar is the sixth big city in Gujarat where SpiceJet will fly to. Home to the world’s largest ship-breaking yard, Bhavnagar has great potential for both business and leisure travelers and the increased air connectivity will help further boost trade and tourism.”

While flights from Bhavnagar to Delhi and Mumbai will operate on all days except Tuesdays, the airline will connect Bhavnagar with Surat and Pune with Tirupati thrice-a week.

Flights between Jaipur and Gwalior and Kishangarh (Ajmer) and Mumbai will operate four days a week and those between Varanasi and Dehradun will operate on all days. SpiceJet will be deploying Q400 aircraft on these routes.

In addition, IndiGo also launched domestic flight connecting Jabalpur to Mumbai and Delhi effective Aug 20.

IndiGo airline in an official statement said the airline will also connect Jabalpur with Hyderabad and Indore w.e.f August 28, 2021. These new connections will strengthen Indigo’s domestic connectivity to and from Jabalpur.
