Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko, around 10 a.m., showed up before the Kochi City Police in Kerala on Saturday, April 19, 2025. He appeared at the Ernakulam Town North Police station after being called by the police for questioning related to the incident where he reportedly ran away from a hotel in Kaloor, Kochi. The District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) was in search of the accused in a drug case when they found the actor there on late Wednesday night.
Shine Chacko Interrogation
Shine Tom Chacko refused to speak to the large group of media people waiting outside the station. As per the reports by The Hindu, the police have prepared around 30 questions, including why he ran away when he saw the police team. They have also gathered call records of the actor from last month. The Narcotics Cell Assistant Commissioner is also present at the station to witness the ongoing process of interrogation.
After this incident, Shine Tom Chacko is not in contact except for his social media posts. Earlier, the police sent a notice calling him for his appearance before them at his residence in Kochi City. Although his family told police that he would come by 3 pm, Chacko arrived at 10 am.
When Actor Flew During Drug Raid
On Wednesday night, around 10:45 pm, a special police team moved out in search of someone in a drug case, which was located at a hotel near Kaloor in Kochi. The search was conducted by the District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force (DANSAF) under the Kochi City Police. But they didn’t find the person; instead, they found Shine Tom Chacko there, who ran away after he saw the police.
While on a search operation, police checked the hotel register and saw the name of Shine Tom Chacko there. They reached the actor’s room on the third floor, but he fled. According to police, CCTV shows that the person running away was Shine Tom Chacko, who jumped out of his room’s window onto a sheet covering the second floor. The sheet tore, and he jumped into a swimming pool to run away using the stairs.
The police didn’t find any drugs in the hotel, but they still wanted to ask the actor about the reason behind his escape.
Misconduct Complaint Against Chacko
The whole controversy started when Malayalam actress Vincy Aloshious claimed that her co-actor misbehaved with her under the influence of drugs during a movie shoot. Later, it was revealed that the actor was Shine Tom Chacko. On Wednesday, she complained to the Film Chamber about the incident, but later on she took back her complaint and said she never wanted people to know his name. Vincy said, “I know exactly where the complaint I filed. It went to the Internal Committee of the film, the Producers Association and AMMA. I don’t know how it leaked out. Producers Association and AMMA also say that it wasn’t from there. I don’t know who leaked it, but no matter, you have done a great betrayal of trust.”
Meanwhile, both the actors will be seen in the film ‘Soothravakayam’, releasing on June 28, 2025.
