Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra returns to Instagram after pornography case controversy

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra made his first public appearance last year in November, two months after his release in a pornography case. He had visited a temple in Himachal Pradesh with his star wife. After that, the duo enjoyed a New Year vacation in  Mussoorie and later visited a Sai Baba temple in Shirdi.

Raj had, however, maintained a low profile on social media. He had reportedly deleted his Twitter and Instagram accounts last year. Now, the businessman is back on the photosharing app.

Raj’s Instagram profile, where he usually shared goofy videos with Silpa, is now active again. But the businessman has made the profile private. He’s only following one person and has over 977k followers on the photosharing app. He has not shared any posts yet.

Raj Kundra was arrested on charges related to the alleged creation of pornographic films last year in July. He was released on bail in September. Last year, when the Supreme Court granted him protection from arrest in connection with another case of pornographic videos, he had issued a public statement.

“After much contemplation, considering there are many misleading and irresponsible statements and articles floating around and my silence has been misconstrued for weakness. I would like to start by stating that I have NEVER been involved in the production and distribution of “pornography” EVER in my life. This whole episode has been nothing but a witch hunt. The matter is subjudice so I can not elucidate, but I am ready to face trial and have full faith in the judiciary” Raj said in the statement.

The couple has been going strong despite all the controversies. His wife Shilpa had even come out in support of her husband in Decmber 2021 and shared a note on Twitter. She had shared a quote by Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Winston Churchill about truth. “The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is,” it read.

Shilpa and Raj tied the knot in November 2009 and welcomed their first child Viaan Raj Kundra in 2012. They became parents for the second time in 2020 as they were blessed with a baby girl through surrogacy. Their daughter Samisha will soon celebrate her second birthday.
