Can you imagine being locked in someone’s house for three months without your phone or loved ones? Well, that’s exactly what contestants of superstar Salman Khan’s controversial reality show, Bigg Boss, go through. The latest season also featured actress Shamita Shetty. After participating in the show’s digital spin-off, Bigg Boss OTT, Shamita entered the 15th season of the television show and managed to stay inside the house till the finale. The contestant, whose three-month-long journey was full of ups and downs, has now opened up about how the show was mentally and emotionally taxing.

Shamita, who already had anxiety issues, spoke about the psychological effects and said that Bigg Boss 15 increased her anxiety level. She also said that she’s still trying to get used to the life outside the BB house. Shamita, who recently celebrated her birthday with her co-contestants from Bigg Boss 15, revealed that she wanted to run away from her own bash.

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, she said, “I wouldn’t say I am 100% back to my life out here. You know what I mean? Thoda time lag raha hai (It’s taking some time). And I didn’t realise this. Jab bohot saare log mere aas paas hua karte the (When I was around a lot of people), I would feel very strange and unfortunately for me, my birthday was in a few days, so I had to see a lot of people but I wanted to run away.”

“Definitely, mentally and emotionally yeh show bahot hi taxing hai. And it takes a lot of healing once you come out of the house. Mera anxiety level ghar ke andar bohot hi badh gaya tha (My anxiety level increased a lot inside the Bigg Boss house) and I already had anxiety issues, so it’s definitely something I am dealing with,” she added.

The Mohabbatein actress revealed that she’s seeking professional help. “I have a therapist, who is very good. Mujhe at least pata hai ki yeh jo phases aate hai, temporary phases hai (At least I know that these phases are temporary),” Shamita said.

The former Bigg Boss contestant also spoke about her beau Raqesh Bapat and their future plans. Shamita, who fell in love with Raqesh during their stint in Bigg Boss OTT, said that marriage is not on the cards for them as they’re still trying to get to know each other.
