The ICC Hall of Fame is set to welcome seven legendary cricketers on June 9, just two days before the World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2025 between Australia and South Africa, scheduled to begin on June 11. This special induction ceremony will be part of a celebratory event titled “A Day with the Legends,” which will be broadcast live through ICC’s official broadcast partners.

This year’s inductees include five male and two female cricketers, although the names have not yet been revealed. The ceremony will take place in London at 9 PM IST, and both Australia’s Pat Cummins and South Africa’s Temba Bavuma are expected to be present to share their thoughts ahead of the final clash at the Oval.

Honoring the Icons of Cricket

The ICC Hall of Fame aims to acknowledge and honor players who have made an extraordinary impact on the game. So far, 115 cricketers have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. The previous induction took place in Dubai ahead of the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final, where Alastair Cook, AB de Villiers, and Neetu David were honored.

Jay Shah on the Significance of the Occasion

ICC Chairman Jay Shah expressed his pride and excitement ahead of the upcoming ceremony. “The ICC Hall of Fame is a tribute to those cricketers whose contributions have been exceptional and unforgettable. It’s not about popularity it’s about merit,” Shah said.

He added, “I’m sure cricket fans across the globe will be thrilled to witness this special moment. With this event taking place right before the WTC Final, the atmosphere will be one of celebration and pride for the sport.”

As anticipation builds for the World Test Championship Final, the Hall of Fame ceremony adds a touch of nostalgia and recognition, celebrating cricket’s greatest contributors while the next chapter of the game is about to unfold.
