SCO Vs AUS, 3rd T20I: Cameron Green’s All-Round Brilliance Secures 3-0 Series Sweep For Australia

Australia battled back from an atrocious start to eventually beat Scotland by six wickets in the third T20I at The Grange on Saturday, September 7 to clean sweep the series. Chasing 150 for victory, Australia started off rather poorly, but did manage to recover and clinch a win.

Scotland were led by a solid 56 off 39 balls by Brandon McMullen as they set a respectable target of 149. He then pulled off an impressive diving catch to remove Jake Fraser-McGurk for a duck to follow. Head, 12, fell to Brad Currie’s delivery as Australia found themselves in danger of folding.

Cameron Green’s Exceptional Performance

Cameron Green came in and changed everything for Australia as he replicated his earlier bowling heroics with a fine effort with the bat. Green’s 62 off 39 balls sealed the win and shortened Scotland’s celebrations. Even when skipper Mitchell Marsh fell for 31 off Jack Jarvis’s deliveries in the 10th over, Australia still chased the target with 23 balls to spare, losing only one more wicket.

The individual highlight of Green’s all-round performance was the first three-wicket haul in T20I and a new personal best with the bat that surpassed his 61 against India in 2022. He muscled five sixes and two fours and had Scotland set a higher target, Green could have added even more to his tally.
